Dig Cooperative: Green Design & Construction

DIG Services

Design
DIG provides visions of urban regeneration and ecological beauty. Members have traveled and studied extensively and combine their talents to create sustaining and healing environments. DIG offers multi-disciplinary design services which draw from Permaculture, urban resources and indigenous wisdom. We are able to provide technical drawings (AutoCAD), architectural construction plans or any other documents necessary to submit a permit application.
Construction
Construction DIG Coop owners include a licensed general contractor, landscape contractor, several skilled carpenters, plumbers, an electrician and Bay Friendly Gardening professional. We can assist you as an independent contractor, home owner builder or work as a consultant or auditor with your architect's or contractor's plans.
Consultation
With over 50 years of combined experience in the fields of ecological design and building we offer a wealth of informed consultants. Beginning with an initial one or two hour appointment we can help you assess the challenges and opportunities of your site or project. We are available for site and project design and analysis, green home and business audits, water and energy efficiency retrofits, wastewater projects, organic gardening systems, permaculture design and urban market farming strategies.
Green Job Training
We offer hands on apprenticeship programs that include reading, research, on the job training, exams and continued personal source work in ecological design, building and stewardship principles. DIG Cooperative offers training for urban ecology stewards, urban gardeners and green builders. We can also train you or your organization in shorter weekend workshops that can help inspire local solutions to our global climate challenge. As they say, "Many hands make light work."
Public Speaking
DIG Coop owners are available for presentations or discussions on environmental and social justice issues with an emphasis on existing and future local solutions. Owners have spoken publicly and offered slide show presentations at West Coast Green, SF Green Fest, Sol Fest, Solar LIving Institute, San Francisco Institute of Architecture, Bay Area Regional Permaculture Convergence, Bay Friendly Gardening and Landscaping Tours and Seminars, Berkeley's Sustainability Summit, Berkeley green Party, the EcoHouse/Ecology Center, Merritt Community College, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, etc.
