Green Jobs
DIG Cooperative had it's start as a community development firm, building cutting edge systems as an open source process. Ever since, has incorporated green job training in our services. With a strong history of teaching inner city youth traditional building skills as well as new techniques in the green building trades, we always return to the basic principles of ecology and design on a human scale. "Look at what a few good folks can accomplish with a pick, a shovel and a water level."
DIG Coop is proud to be a partner of the City of Oakland's Green Works Development (GWD), a green job training program of the Community and Economic Development Agency. Through the GWD, DIG Coop renovated the East Oakland Boxing Association with water conservation technologies and redesigned the landscape for the community of Sobrante Park in East Oakland. DIG also provided plumbing and irrigation workshops for Richmond Rosie's Girls, a young women's empowerment and training program.
